Wannettia Marie Baldwin

Mrs. Wannettia Marie Baldwin, 86, of Mediapolis died at 1:05 a.m. Tuesday, February 18, 2014, at Prairie Ridge Care and Rehabilitation in Mediapolis. Born May 7, 1927 in St. Charles, Arkansas, she was the daughter of Charles and Lillian (Hand) Paxton. She married Willis Baldwin February 11, 1947 in Kahoka, Missouri. He preceded her in death on May 2, 2005. Mrs. Baldwin was the housekeeping and laundry supervisor for Prairie Ridge Care and Rehabilitation in Mediapolis for 23 years, retiring in 1997. Wannettia enjoyed her family the most; she especially enjoyed her grandchildren and took every opportunity she could to photograph them. She loved the outdoors and spent much of her time gardening. Her hobbies were crocheting, seek a word puzzles and looking at her picture albums. Survivors include five daughters, Rose Mary Hobbs, Della (Bill) Flaherty and Ruth (Craig) Shafer of Mediapolis, Wanda (Terry) Miller and Peggy (Robert) Struble both of Burlington; one son, Willis Baldwin of Mediapolis; 21 grandchildren; 38 great grandchildren; 19 great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephew.
