Ernest H. DeBower

Ernest DeBower, 92, of Waverly, Iowa, formerly of Allison, passed away Thursday, February 27, 2014, at the Waverly Health Center in Waverly, Iowa. He was born December 3, 1921, in Rural Butler County, Iowa, to Harvey J. and Anna (Johnson) DeBower. Ernest graduated from Allison High School. He was united in marriage to W. Eileen Bochman on November 23, 1944, in Allison, Iowa. Ernest was a farmer and also an Insurance Agent. He was a member of the St. James Lutheran Church in Allison. Ernest was an avid golfer. He is survived by his daughter Colette (Vernon Jr.) Harms of Cedar Falls, son Craig (Bea) DeBower of Sarasota, Florida, grandchildren Tim (Pam) Harms of Owatonna, Minnesota, Amy (James) Mosley of Waverly, Christina (Collin) Billings of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, Daniel (Heather) DeBower of Sarasota, Florida, great grandchildren A.J. Mosley, Zach Mosley, Christian Mosley, Carter Billings, Caitlin Billings, Jack DeBower and Max DeBower. Ernest is preceded in death by his parents, wife, three sisters, and one brother. [more]
