HERBERT BELLINGER FRUITLAND, Iowa - Herbert R. Bellinger, 71, of Fruitland, died on Wednesday, March 5, 2014, at Genesis Hospital - East Campus, Davenport. Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 8, 2014, at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home. Pastor Collette Gould of Island United Methodist Church will officiate. Honorary bearers will be Doug Reist, Pudge Lane, Steve Conner, Steve Rhodes, and all of his friends. Celebration of Life Gathering will be held from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 8, 2014, at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the family in care of Donna Bellinger. Herb was born on April 12, 1942, in La Porte City, the son of Ross W. and Adalene Schlotfelt Bellinger. He married Donna Jackson on December 29, 1973, in Keithsburg, Illinois. He worked at All Steel in maintenance, retiring after 21 years of employment. He also raced motorcycles professionally for 16 years. x. He would do anything for anybody and he loved to argue even if he knew he wasn't right. Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Donna Bellinger of Fruitland; one son, Troy Bellinger and wife, Kari, of Muscatine, two daughters, Carrie Brown and husband, Bill, of Letts, and Megan Dieckman and husband, Pete, of Muscatine; nine grandchildren, Bethany Morgan and Jon, Faith Brown and Lindsay, Jace Brown, Courtney Bellinger, Allie Bellinger, Kameron Pawski, Travis Pawski, Hunter Dieckman, and Leland Dieckman; three great-grandchildren, Johnathan and Ryelan Morgan, and Hayden See; two brothers, Harry D. Bellinger and wife, Pat, of Muscatine, and Duane C. Bellinger and wife, Connie, of Muscatine; and one sister, Janemarie Idle and husband, John, of Indianola. He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Harlan Bellinger and Dennis 'Tiny' Bellinger.
