Dolores Bellows

Dolores Elizabeth Thiesen Bellows, age 89, of Spirit Lake, passed away Thursday, March 6, 2014, at the Sanford Medical Center in Jackson, Minnesota. She was born on August 5, 1924, in Jackson County, to Paul and Christine (Sell) Thiesen. Dolores attended Sioux Valley and Lakefield Schools, graduating in 1944. She was united in marriage to Donald Bellows on December 4, 1946, in Loon Lake, Minnesota. Don passed away in 1972, as a result of an automobile accident. While raising her children, she worked at Berkley's, Blum Candy Company, Jackson High School Cafeteria, Natural Flowers, Kimberly's and helped with domestic work. Dolores was a member of the United Methodist Church, the Ladies Circle, VFW Auxiliary and the Happy Hour Club. She enjoyed gardening, feeding birds, reading, walking, playing cards and biking. Dolores loved and treasured her time with her thirteen grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; brothers, Clayton and Jim Thiesen; infant children, Diane Marie and John Charles; and son-in-law, John Fricke. A memorial service will be held at 12:00P.M. Monday, March 10, 2014, at the United Methodist Church in Spirit Lake. The Schuchert Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
