  Paul J. Lara, 59, of Fort Dodge, passed away Friday, April 4, 2014 at Trinity Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be held 10:00 A.M. on Wednesday, April 9, 2014 in the chapel of Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home and 10:30 A.M. at Sacred Heart Church with Msgr. Kevin McCoy officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial. Burial will be in Corpus Christi Cemetery. Visitation will be held 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M.at Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home with a Vigil service beginning at 7:00 P.M. The Family requests for all to please wear Iowa HAWKEYE apparel to the Visitation at the funeral home! -in-law Robert and Marcy Lara; and sister, Lupe Wildt. Paul Joseph Lara was born July 29, 1954 in Fort Dodge. He attended Fort Dodge Public Schools, graduating from Fort Dodge Senior High. Paul was united in marriage to Diane Roest on December 4, 1973 in Fort Dodge. They made their home here in town, and the couple later divorced. Besides being employed at U.S.G. for a number of years, Paul also worked for O'Brien Construction and also worked for Chicago-Northwestern Railroad. He currently was working seasonally for the city of Fort Dodge. Paul was an avid Hawkeye fan and was very proud of his "Big Ten" group. He also really enjoyed the family barbeques and spending quality time with his grandkids. Memorials may be left in discretion of the family.
