gh in 1961 and attended Fort Dodge Junior College. Phil then served in the United States Air Force. In 1965, Phil was united in marriage to Lynn Christofferson in Fort Dodge. The couple later divorced. Phil was united in marriage to Beverly Cathcart and the couple later divorced. Phil was employed with Fort Dodge Containers/Box Manufacturing and then with Rock Island Millwork in Fort Dodge and Waterloo. He returned to Fort Dodge where he worked for Overhead Door Company as a road salesman. In 1972 Phil joined Levien Chevrolet where he worked until 1983. He worked for Koberg Chevrolet in Carroll and Clement Auto in Fort Dodge. Later he worked for Lambi Chevrolet in Webster City. While in Webster City, Phil was also well known as the track announcer at the Hamilton County Speedway. Most recently Phil worked as a driver for the Rabiner Boys Ranch. Phil was an avid sports enthusiast. He played fast pitch softball for Sandy's Budweiser Distributing from 1965-1969, including a game in 1966 that went for 24 innings, lasted until 1:00 a.m., with Phil's team winning 1-0. He played for Larry Lange Ford which traveled to surrounding states for major fast pitch tournaments against some of the nation's best players, and then for Levien Chevrolet. Phil was a 1988 inductee of the Fort Dodge Softball Association Hall of Fame and he was an original member of the Fort Dodge Demons baseball team. He enjoyed serving as announcer and scorekeeper at Patterson Field and he loved his Iowa State Cyclones. He liked to bowl, play golf and was an avid Nascar fan. Phil especially treasured time spent with his family and was a very proud grandpa.
