ROSALIE MILLER ROCK ISLAND, Illinois - Rosalie M. Miller, 59, a former resident of Muscatine, passed away after a short illness on Monday, May 12, 2014, at her home in Rock Island. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, May 16, 2014, at St. Mathias Church. The Reverend Nicklas Nietzel will officiate. Honorary bearers will be her Godchildren, Daniel Nietzel, Beth Hills-Carrier, Justin Miller, and Anna Rose Rauenbuehler, and a special nephew, Michael Clyde. Bearers will be her brothers. Burial will take place in St. Mary's Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:30 until 10:30 a.m. on Friday, May 16, 2014, at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials can either be made to the Ss. Mary and Mathias Parish or to the Family of Mary Mission. The Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Rosalie was born on September 28, 1954, in Iowa City, the daughter of Henry Harold and Mary Catherine Koenigsaecker Miller Sr. She attended St. Mathias Elementary School, Hayes Catholic High School, and graduated from Muscatine High School, class of 1972. She was a lifelong member of St. Mathias Church. Throughout her life, Rose was involved in many charitable pursuits and gave generously of her time and money. She did not know a stranger. Rose will be remembered for her loving heart, her wonderful wit, and her generous nature. Rosalie will be greatly missed by her large surviving family including seven brothers, Henry (Francy), Denis (Diane), Michael (Sue), Jeff (Michelle), Joseph (Pam), James (Cathy), and John (Julie); and five sisters, Debbie Hills, Shellie Clyde, Lori (Nick) Nietzel, Lea (Scott) Gentzler, and Sharon (Mark) Rauenbuehler. Also mourning her passing are 45 nieces and nephews and 42 great-nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her grandparents; and one brother-in-law.
