re those values. Dick, born on April 13, 1926, was the middle child and was the first to graduate high school. His mother had to receive that diploma because he had joined the navy during WWII. He worked behind the lines in the Philippines, was very proud to be a veteran and will be buried in the beautiful National Memorial Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida. His brother Paul/Gert are buried there too. Dick returned to the USA and brought back with him, adult asthma which so afflicted him that he ultimately moved to South Florida in 1964 to live with his brother Ray/Cil and their family. In the years between the war and 1964, he lived at home on "the farm" and worked at the mill. He enjoyed bachelorhood, being with his many buddies and visiting his siblings as they married and moved off. I believe he was the best man at 10 weddings! He was a great help to his parents, esp. his mom who had had 5 strokes and was paralyzed on her right side, and became a much loved Uncle Richard to his nieces and nephews {eventually 28). He owned a horse-Blaze and rode a motorcycle. WOW!! In 1964, Dick and I met on a blind date set up by my best friend and her hubby who knew Dick through the Liquor Industry that Dick did merchandising for. I had been in the convent for 7years and had received dispensation to leave and join the lay life a few months before. He was 39 and I was 26 and so our story began. Neither of us had ever lived alone and it has been quite a trip since then. We always knew that it was God's plan that we found each other. God bless you all and thank you for all of the prayers through this trying time.
