Verlene K. Taggs, 70, of Fort Dodge, died May 27, 2014 at the Paula J. Baber Hospice Home. Memorial services will be held 1:00 p.m. Monday, June 2, 2014 at Gunderson Funeral Chapel. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Interment of her cremated remains will be held at a later date in Maryville, MO.
Verlene K. Hall, the daughter of Vernon and Catherine (Clifton) Hall, was born May 12, 1944 in Hamburg, IA. She was united in marriage to Kenneth Taggs on July 18, 1965. To this union five children were born. The couple later divorced.
Verlene was a mother to many and grandmother to many more. She was especially devoted and protective of her eldest granddaughter and her namesake, Verlenee. She will be remembered for her love of Christmas and decorating for each season, for making cards, crafting, cooking and crocheting.
Survivors include her children; Kenneth Taggs of Marshalltown, John (Mary) Taggs of Harlan, Rachel (David) Patterson of Fort Dodge, Marc (Daniel) Hall of Denver, CO and Jennifer Taggs of Waterloo; her grandchildren, Mark, Verlenee, Douglas, April, Arly, Jacob and Emily; her sister Judy (Jim) Acklin of Waterloo and her brother Robe...[more]
