James Kelly Taylor, age 73, of Carlisle, Ohio, died Sunday June 1, 2014 at Hospice of Butler-Warren Counties. He was born in Hamilton, Ohio on March 15, 1941 to Charles and Loretta (Sauer) Taylor. James served in the U.S. Navy for 8 years during the Vietnam War and was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church. He was employed with General Motors for 27 years as an electrician. He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Taylor, mother, Loretta Taylor, sisters, Edna Brown, Sally Taylor, and a grandson Griffin McNutt. James is survived by his wife of 50 years Shirley Hurley Taylor son, Chris (Tangie)Taylor; daughter, Cheryl (Roger) McNutt; three grandsons, Ryan McNutt, Trevor McNutt, Ethan Taylor; two granddaughters, Taylor McNutt, Katie Taylor; and brother, Rockne Taylor. Funeral services are 11:00 am Wednesday June 4, 2014 at Hillcrest Baptist Church 820 Central Avenue Franklin, Ohio with Reverend Larry Lambes officiating. Burial will be in Butler County Memorial Park with military honors. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the church.
