William D. "Buck" Hilton WEST LIBERTY, Iowa -- William D. "Buck" Hilton died on Saturday, June 7, 2014, in Hospice Care at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City after a battle with diabetes, congestive heart failure, and cancer. Visitation will be from 2 until 4 p.m. on Tuesday, June 17, 2014, at the West Liberty Community Center, West Liberty. Buck requested no flowers. Instead memorials in his name can be made to Pheasants Forever in West Liberty c/o Mitch Templeman, the West Liberty American Legion, the West Liberty Rescue Unit, or Iowa City Hospice. Buck was born on March 18, 1933, in Muscatine, to Ford and Irma Reifert Hilton. He earned his teaching degree from Iowa Wesleyan College. He served honorably in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. Buck was united in marriage to Judy Nealson in 1991. Buck was an educator for most of his life; he taught at Brighton High School for four years, Wilton High School for seven years, and L&M High School for twenty-four years. Buck is survived by his wife, Judy Nealson of West Liberty; five sons, William "Bill" Hilton and wife, Casey, of Muscatine, Mike Hilton and wife, Carrie, of Superior, Colorado, Howie Hilton and wife, Liz, of Wilton, Geoff Hilton and wife, Roberta, and Alan Hilton and wife, Sue, all of Muscatine; a step-son, Brian Bruggeman; eight grandchildren: Zac, Breanne, Grant, Andy, Geddy, Austin, Connor, and Nick; four great-grandchildren: Laura, James, Susie, and John; two step-granddaughters, Danielle and her children Noah and Jordan, and Katy; a sister, Snow Hilton of Sun Prairie, Wisconsin; and a brother, John Hilton of St. Joseph, Missouri. He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant son, Joel; and a step-daughter, Sarina Bruggeman.
