Duane L. "Doc" Cameron, 87, of Burlington died at 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 20, 2014, at Great River Medical Center - Emergency Treatment Center.
Born July 8, 1926, in South Bend, Indiana, he was the son of Merle and Ruth Merrill Cameron.
On August 15, 1953, he married Leora Bell Smitt in Eau Claire, Michigan. She preceded him in death on December 13, 1997. He was in the Army Air Corp during WW II receiving three Bronze Stars.
Mr. Cameron was a supervisor for a gas manufacturing company. He spent his summers in Burlington and his winters in Texas for many years. He was a member of West Burlington United Methodist Church, American Legion in Texas, life member of V.F.W., Elks lodge, and past member of the Moose Lodge.
"Doc" looked forward to his one totty in the afternoon, was an avid Cardinals fan and tolerated the Cubs. He enjoyed play cards and visiting with family and friends.
Survivors include his Companion Barbara Turk of Burlington; two daughters, Rita Cameron of Wartervliet, MI and Jenny Cameron Evan of Coloma, MI; four grandchildren; five great grandchildren.
Besides his wife he was preceded in death by his parents.

The funeral service will be held at Davidson Chapel in Coloma, MI, on Thursday with interment in North Shore Memory Gardens in Hagar Shores, MI.
