Harold G. Turner, 82, of Tipton, died suddenly Saturday morning (June 28, 2014) in Mercy Hospital, Iowa City, Iowa. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 2, 2014 at 10:30 am at Fry Funeral Home in Tipton, Iowa with burial to follow in the Tipton Masonic Cemetery. The Rev. Ronald Lashmit will be officiating. A public visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 1, 2014, from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at the funeral home. A memorial has been established in Harold's name.
Harold was born on October 3, 1931 and was the son of Albert and Isabelle (Adams) Turner. On June 10, 1956, Harold was united in marriage to Joyce Edna Schlaegel in the Foursquare Church in Tipton. Harold worked for the City of Tipton for many years and then worked for Cedar County Secondary Department from August, 1973 - May, 1993.
Harold is survived by his daughters, Penny (Michael) Reynolds of Tipton, Iowa and Cheryl (Leonard) Franzen of Dewitt, Iowa; grandchildren, Crystal, Nicole, Travis, Jodie, Joni, Jamie and Joy; and 10 great-grandchildren.
