Teresa "Teddy" Harris, 83, of Fort Dodge passed away Tuesday, July 1, 2014 at the Paula J. Baber Hospice Home. Funeral services will be Saturday, July 5, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral and at 10:30 a.m. a Mass for Christian Burial will be at Corpus Christi Church with Msgr. Kevin McCoy officiating. Burial will follow at Corpus Christi Cemetery. A visitation will be Friday from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the funeral home, with a Catholic Daughters of America and Legion of Mary Rosary at 2:00 p.m. and Vigil at 5:00 p.m. Teresa is survived by her children, Sister Mary "Terrie" of Jesus, O.C.D. of Pennsylvania; Beth (Chuck) Gernhart of Fort Dodge; Deacon Jeff (Nancy) Harris of Marshalltown; grandchildren, Zane (Corrine) Gernhart, Kate Harris, Kara Gernhart, and Zoe Harris; siblings, Arlene Bonneson of Wapello; William Christensen of Chicago, IL; Paul (Beth) Christensen of Security, CO; Phillip Christensen of Darien, IL; Catherine (Bruce) Welchel of Peoria, IL; Christine (Frank) Collie of San Luis Obispo, CA; Mary Fuller; Michael (Karen) Christensen both of Fort Dodge; Terry (Linda) Christensen of Hinton and Carl (Betty) Christensen of Urbandale. preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Veronica (Cavanaugh) Christensen; daughter, Patricia Ann Harris; and sisters, Patty Christensen, Joan Condon, and Margaret Marsh. Teresa Christensen was born August 18, 1930 in Fort Dodge, where she was raised and educated. Teresa married Dean Harris on February 9, 1950. The couple established their home in Fort Dodge and raised their family; they later divorced. Teresa was employed at Mercy Hospital, later Trinity Regional Hospital. She worked for over 33 years in the Personnel Department, retiring in 1998. She was a member of Corpus Christi Church, Catholic Daughters of America, and the Legion of Mary. Teresa volunteered for many years for the parish. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
