. Estalene was a member of the Presbyterian Church and the Presbyterian Women's Group, served as president three times, and received an honorary member pin from UP Women. She sang in the church choir and belonged to the B. W. Mothers Club since 1949. Estalene continued to clean homes while raising their children and also cleaned the church once a week. Estalene was talented with handwork, crocheting, embroidery and quilting. She collected music boxes, poems, bookmarks, ceramic animals and pretty dishes. Estalene enjoyed listening to music, watching movies and television shows; especially the ones that made her laugh. She could always be found working a crossword puzzle or playing board games. Estalene and Hildreth were married 52 years when Hildreth died on March 4, 1988. Estalene continued to live at home until April 2013, when she moved to the Oakland Manor. Estalene passed away on August 22, 2014 at the Jennie Edmundson Memorial Hospital in Council Bluffs, Iowa, at the age of 100 years, 6 months, and 25 days. In addition to her beloved husband, she was also preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Ora Perdue, Ira Perdue, Dewey Perdue, and Jesse Perdue; and sisters, Opal Kemling, Ruby Krueger, Beulah Billings, Lazelle Perdue, and Pauline Braden. Estalene is survived by her son Brian Palmer and wife Sally of Fall City, NE; daughter Karen Dreyer and husband Ed of Palm Bay, FL; granddaughter Lanette Dreyer of Palm Bay; grandsons, Jason Dreyer and wife Dawn of Statesville, NC and Shane Palmer and wife Stacy of Ames, IA; three great granddaughters, Lorena and Nykhol Dreyer and Samantha Palmer; many nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends.
