Lois E."Myrt" McColloch, 90, of Forest City, died Tuesday, September 2, 2014 at the Good Samaritan Center in Forest City. Visitation will be held from 5-7 P.M., Friday (September 5, 2014) at the Petersen Lund Funeral Home, 505 N. Clark St. Forest City, IA. A rosary service will be held at 5:00 P.M. A funeral service will be held 10:00 A.M., Saturday September 6, 2014 at St. James Catholic Church in Forest City with Father Paul Lippstock officiating. Private family burial of cremains will be held in St. James Cemetery at a later date. Memorials may be directed to the Lois E. McColloch Memorial Fund in care of the family. Lois E. McColloch, the daughter of Frank and Esther (Yarish) Murtagh was born February 12, 1924. She attended Forest City High School graduating in 1942. On May 26, 1943 Lois was united in marriage to Chester McColloch at the St. James Rectory. Myrt worked part-time for the Rationing Board, Sahr Produce, Forest City Schools and Winnebago County. She was a full time homemaker and enjoyed tending to her home and taking care of her children. She was a long time member of St. James Catholic Church in Forest City. Lois is survived by her children, Geraldine (Bill) Helfter of Forest City, Scott(Sue) McColloch of Fertile, Dan McColloch and special friend Kathy Faber of Fertile; daughter-in-law, Sunny Dawn McColloch; seven grandchildren, Jay (Tina) Hoff, Shane (Stacia) Hoff, Holly (Bob) Frary, Patrick (Sara) McColloch, Cheryl Letcher, Mitchell McColloch and fiancé Stephanie Stone and Katlyn McColloch and special friend Nick Salisbury; eleven great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Chester McColloch; son, Patrick McColloch; grandson, Michael Gardner and two brothers, Tom and Glenn Murtagh.
