n Askelson at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Fort Dodge. Mark grew up on a farm in Webster County where he later started farming with his father, and he was also proud to farm together with his son. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and a friend to all. Mark lived his life with conscious commitment to his faith in God, his family, his farm, and his friends. He opened his heart to those around him, always extending his hand with a hearty greeting and inviting smile. Mark carried a love of music all his life and shared his voice at weddings, funerals, and especially in the choir at church. He was an expert at keeping those around him close and holding them tight. For him, faith, family, farming, and friends were not separate things. They overlapped and melded tighter to make a beautiful, wonderful life full of joy and love. His memory will live forever in the hearts of those who loved him. Mark was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, where he was an active choir member and an elder of the church. He was also on the Board of Director at the W & H Coop and a long time board member of the Webster County Conservation. Memorials may be left to the St. Paul Lutheran Church Building Fund.
