Raymond Knutson, of Antigo, died Sunday September 21, 2014 at Care Partners under the care of LeRoyer Hospice. He was 84 years old. He was born on December 12, 1929 in Antigo, a son of Herman and Ida (Brennecke) Knutson.
He attended Antigo High School in the special needs educational program.
For a number of years, he worked on the Charles Gallenberg potato farm and went to the Langlade County Health Care Center for 27 years. He resided with his sister Betty Gallenberg and her family for 44 years.
As a well-known resident of the Antigo area, he enjoyed bowling, fishing, and conversation. In his earlier years, he was an active participant in the Special Olympics and he was an avid bicycle rider.
Survivors include four sisters, Betty Gallenberg, Antigo, Rose Marie Muraski, Alto, Carrie Galuska, Wausau, Lucille Smith, Oshkosh.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by brothers, Herbert Knutson, Jerry Knutson, and four brothers in law Charles Gallenberg, Duane Muraski, John Galuska and Wayne Smith.
Ray will be remembered by his quote " I like you, we're friends hey".
