Martin "Keith" Washburn, 69, of Keokuk, passed away Thursday evening, September 25, 2014, at his home. Keith, one of sixteen children, was born February 12, 1945, in Keokuk IA, to Martin and Irene Lambert Washburn. He was a member of the United States Air Force serving from 1963 until 1967. He remembered seeing Mrs. Kennedy and President Kennedy's casket arrive at the Washington, D.C. airport following Kennedy's assassination in 1963. He married his wife, Dianna Rodgers, in Santa Anna, California, on September 30, 1967. She survives. Keith was a member of All Saints Catholic Church in Keokuk, Iowa. He was a musician who loved playing the guitar and played with the Country Time band for many years. Keith loved cars and working on them. He loved his two dogs and his cat very much and bought them sausage at Hamilton Family Restaurant every morning. ng are one brother and six sisters, Patrick (Sandra) Washburn, Vivian Mahoney, Ilene Robertson, Shirley (Kenneth) Dodge, Kathleen (Robert) Boltz, Sharon Cockrell, Sheila (John) Kay; and several cousins, nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; three daughters, Suzanne Michelle Washburn, Leslie Gilman and Simone "Nicki" Dochterman; five brothers, Anthony, Glen, Carl, John, and one in infancy; and three sisters Ruth, Lucille, and Dolores. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 AM Tuesday, September 30, 2014, at All Saints Catholic Church with Father Mark Spring officiating. Burial with full military rites will follow at Keokuk National Cemetery. Visitation will be at DeJong-Greaves Celebration of Life Center on 917 Blondeau Street after 3 PM Monday, September 29, 2014, with family meeting friends from 5-8 PM. A Christian Wake service will be held at 6 PM. A memorial has been established.
