Daniel John McCurdy

Dan J. McCurdy, 55, of Fort Dodge, passed away on Friday, October 10, 2014 at his home. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 14th, at 10:30 a.m. at Corpus Christi Church with Msgr. Kevin McCoy officiating the Mass of Christian Burial. There will be a visitation Monday, October 13th, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Laufersweiler-Sievers funeral home. Dan is survived by his parents, Harold and Rosemary (Korte) McCurdy of Fort Dodge; his siblings, Dr. Sheryl McCurdy (Dr. Greg Maddox) of Houston, TX; Terry McCurdy (Terry Emma) of Geneva, IL; Karen (Scott) Kirchner of Charlotte, NC; and Mary Kay (Alan) Savitz of Allentown, PA; 11 nieces and nephews. Daniel John McCurdy was born May 28, 1959 in Fort Dodge. He attended St. Edmonds and later graduated from West High School in Iowa City. Dan then graduated from Iowa Central Community College with a degree in Electronics. For over 25 years Dan was employed with Schumacher Elevator, based out of Denver, Iowa, as longtime repairman.
