Barbara Ulrey

Mrs. Barbara Sharon Ulrey, 68, of Seymour, passed away Sunday, November 2, 2014 at home. She was born on January 10, 1946, in Seymour, IN, the daughter of Francis Virginia Crockett and Victor Woodard. On June 19, 1966 in Seymour, IN she married John Ulrey who survives. Barb was a graduate of Seymour High School and also the House of James Beauty College. She was co-owner of Ulrey Glass. She was an active league bowler for over 50 years and was in 36 National Bowling tournaments. She was a member of the Seymour Bowling Association Hall of Fame. Barb was loved for her card ministry; she sent thousands of homemade cards to people for all occasions. Her biggest passion was her grandkids and the birth of her first great grandson was a special day in her life. She was an active member of Cornerstone Community Church, where she loved helping with the youth ministry. Barb loved all travel especially to Florida and the many Nascar races she attended. She adored and spoiled her dog, Harley. He was a small but mighty companion to her. She was a member of the Elks Lodge Ladies Auxiliary where she loved to play cards. She will be missed by her husband John; children: Brian (Jessie) Ulrey, Kelli Simpson, Stephanie Ulrey; grandchildren: Collin (Alexa) Ulrey, Jalen Ulrey, Kieffer, Keaton, Kammon, Karter, and Klein Simpson, Breanna and Brielyn Tidd; great grandson: Brennan Ulrey; great granddaughter: Kilynn Burton and brother, William Woodard and sister, Joann (Kenny) Parr. She is preceded in death by her parents and brother Steve Woodard A service honoring Barb will be held at Cornerstone Community Church on Thursday November 6, 2014 at 11:00AM with Rev. Johnnie Spivey officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery with a Voss dove release. Visitation will be held at Voss Chapel on Wednesday November 5, 2014 from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm and at Cornerstone Community Church on Thursday after 9:00 am until the time of service. Memorials may be written to Cornerstone Youth Ministry or Hospice of Schneck Medical Center.
