Jean Mason, 96, of Glenwood, passed away on Sunday, November 16, 2014 at the Hospice with Heart House in Glenwood. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, November 21, 2014 at the Loess Hills Funeral Home in Malvern. Burial will be in the Malvern Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 20, 2014 at the Loess Hills Funeral Home in Malvern. Walnut Glenwood, IA 51534-1741 Jean Catherine (Bryant) Mason was born on March 21, 1918 in Omaha, Nebraska, the daughter of Dailey R. and Myrtle (Lupinske) Bryant. She was employed as an administrative clerk for many years at the ASCS office in Malvern, Iowa. Jean was a member of the Malvern United Methodist Church and was active in Malvern BPW and various other community organizations. Jean loved to read, do ceramics, watch sports on TV, and tending to her flower gardens, which were some of her proudest accomplishments. "snowbird" and went where places were warm during the winter, first to Texas, then she settled in Hemet, California, where she spent many wonderful and active winter years. Jean will be remembered as very outgoing and friendly to everyone. Jean passed away on November 16, 2014 at Hospice with Heart in Glenwood, at the age of 96 years, 7 months, and 26 days. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Walter Van Mason, in 1975; her parents; and twin great granddaughters, Wyndam and Lauren Warner. Jean is survived by her daughters, Jeanie Brust and husband Ray of Glenwood, and Penny Caddy and Jack Forslund of The Colony, TX; five beautiful granddaughters, Lisa Hillis McMahon, Nicole Warner, Kristine Pickard, Dorothea J. Thomas, and Susanne Thomas; one handsome grandson, Ray Brust; numerous great and great-great grandchildren; other relatives and a host of friends. What a "great life" Jean has had and will be truly missed by all!
