Jean A. Palmer

Jean Alice (Conta) Palmer, age 92, of Green Bay, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 21, 2014. She was born on April 19, 1922 to the late Enrico and Columbia (Cheski) Conta in Crystal Falls, Michigan. Jean graduated from Kingsford High School in 1939. Following graduation, she came to Green Bay and enrolled in business classes. While in Green Bay, Jean met her future husband, Earl John Palmer. The couple married on April 3, 1943, in Oakland, California. Following World War II, they returned to Green Bay and began a life together. Jean was a loving, talented, outgoing, happy person who said "yes!" to life. Jean's other passions included music, dancing, playing bridge, Schafkopf and traveling. Her companion in many of these activities was her long-time dearest friend, Alfred Denissen, a gentleman who kept her laughing and dancing. She was an active member of Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Church. Jean worked full time as a U.S. Postal Inspector Secretary in Green Bay until she retired in 1986. Jean is survived by her three children, Lynn (Tim) Pauly-Selner, of Wisconsin, John (Kay) Palmer, of Washington, and Daniel (Wendy) Palmer, of Wisconsin; her six wonderful grandchildren, Nicole (Frank) Pauly-Pavlica, of Wisconsin, Matthew (Dayna) Pauly, of New Mexico, Sara Palmer, of Washington, Kelsey (Lewis) Palmer-Liaw, of Washington, Zachary Palmer (Amanda Blake), of Virginia and Aleitha Palmer, of Wisconsin; eight precious great-grandchildren, Ryan and Trent Pauly, of New Mexico, Lenka and Mikulas Pavlica, of Wisconsin, Preston and Everett Palmer, of Virginia and Ronan and Evelyn Liaw, of Washington. Visitation will be held at Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Church, 2270 South Oneida Street, on Wednesday, December 3, 2014 from 9:30 am until the time of the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am with the Rev.
