Hazel Prewitt

Mrs. Hazel Prewitt, 82, of Seymour died Sunday, December 7, 2014, at her home with her family surrounding her with their love. She was born April 15, 1932 in Perry County, KY, the daughter of the late Estill and Mary (Brewer) Deaton. Hazel was married to Jake "Jakie G" Prewitt. She retired from Cummins Engine Co., and enjoyed sewing, quilting, crocheting and gardening. She is survived by her children; Debbie Alexander, Harold (Betty) Jent, Lorraine (Steve) Trapp, Sheree (Jeff) Duncan, Gregory (Betty) Jent, Michael (Linda) Jent; son-in-law, Terry Carruthers; brothers: Chester Deaton, Billy G. (Jesse) Deaton, Eli (Phyllis) Deaton and Jerry (Clara) Deaton; sister, Anna Mae Deaton; sister-in-laws: Katie Deaton and Patricia Deaton, 24 grandchildren, 44 great-grandchildren and 23 great-great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband Jake "Jakie G"; daughter, Brenda Carruthers; brothers: Adam Earl Deaton and Leonard Deaton; and a great grandson, Baurle Van Doren.
