John Robert Nollen

Mr. John Robert Nollen, 56, of Kansas City, Missouri and formerly of Burlington died at 2:20 a.m. Monday, December 15, 2014, at Truman Medical Center in Kansas City. Born May 31, 1958 in Burlington, he was the son of Verner "Red" J. and Roberta Ann (Callahan) Nollen. Mr. Nollen was a 1977 graduate of Notre Dame and a 1981 graduate of Northeast Missouri State University at Kirksville, Missouri. He was a professional fund raiser for over 25 years, working for the American Heart Association, the American Lung Association and for the Full Employment Counsel of Missouri as a job placer. Mr. Nollen was of the Catholic faith. He was a world traveler, loved to entertain and was a fabulous cook. He loved his nieces, nephews and his dog Dillon. Stronghurst, Illinois and his nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, mother, sister Christina and brother Timothy. The Rosary will be recited at 6:30 p.m. Friday, December 19th, at Lunning Chapel. The family will receive friends following the Rosary until 9 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial for Mr. Nollen will be 1 p.m. Saturday, December 20th, at SS Mary and Patrick Catholic Church. The Rev. Father David Steinle will be the celebrant. The Resurrection Choir will provide music. Interment will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Memorials have been established in memory of John Nollen and Burlington Notre Dame Foundation.
