Glenn Austin Keeney

Glenn Austin Keeney, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, great-great grandfather, brother, and uncle, was transported to Heaven to be with his Savior on Thursday, January 22, 2015' at the age of 93 years.  He was born April 13,1921 at Lucas, the son of Harley and Anna Woods Keeney   On March 14,1946, he married the love of his life, Lola Phipps at Wapello, Iowa.  He served with honors in the United States Navy during WWII. He was devoted to his church all his life. He is currently a member of the Moravia Church of the Nazarene.

His family includes his wife of over 68 years, Lola of Albia,  4 children and their spouses: Kathy and Don Major,  Edward and Sandy Keeney,  Patti and Dan Cantrell, and Darrell and Jody Keeney, eight grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren, his brother, Harley and Elaine Keeney, his sisters Colene Borger, Louise Turner, Carol Fullerton, Francis Schneider and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Rev. Harold Keeney, a sister, Francine Irving, and a son, Edward Keeney.

ill be held Monday, January 26, 2015, at 10 a.m. in the Lighthouse Church of the Nazarene in Moravia, with the Reverend Terry Chapman officiating. Burial will be in the Woodlawn Cemetery in Lovilia. Visitation will be at the Sinnott Pierschbacher Funeral Home in Albia on Saturday, January 24, and the family will be at the funeral chapel  from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. to greet friends and relatives.
