Mary Lou Wilson

Mary Lou Wilson, 76, of New London, died Saturday, February 28, 2015 at the New London Nursing and Rehab Center. Mrs. Wilson was born December 1, 1938 in Burlington, Iowa, the daughter of Roy Carl and Ethel M. Miller Nesius. On June 29, 1958 she married Ben Flam in Burlington, Iowa and they later divorced. On July 14, 1979 she married Jack Wilson in Burlington. He died October 25, 2003. She was a graduate of Burlington High School and worked as an office manager and teller at Hawkeye Bank in New London for 13 years. She was a member of the New London United Methodist Church, New London Lions Club and Mother's Club, and Deerwood Golf Club. She enjoyed playing golf and bridge, and watching sports, especially the St. Louis Cardinals and the Hawkeyes. Mrs. Wilson is survived by two sons, Scot Flam of New London and Robert Flam, of Mt. Pleasant; two step-sons, David Wilson (David Smith) of Lincoln, NE, and Mike (Marjorie) Wilson of Coral Springs, FL; two step-daughters, Diane Wilson (Kay Richter) of Lincoln, and Janet (Jerry) O'Brien of Jupiter, FL; seven grandchildren; and two sisters, Martha (Chuck) Landstrom of Burlington and Janelle (Richard) Harken of Clive, IA; and one s...[more]

According to her wishes, she has been cremated and a Memorial Service and inurnment will be held at a later date. Memorials have been established to the New London United Methodist Church, New London Fire and Rescue, and Great River Hospice.
