e's training at St. Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield immediately following high school. She met and married Bill, the love of her life, in 1946, and interrupted her nursing career soon after to start a family which would eventually grow to become five children, eight grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. When the youngest started school, Marian resumed her nursing career as a school nurse in the Hales Corners/Greenfield School System. Later, she joined the Visiting Nurses' Association in Milwaukee, and became a pioneer in local health care as she established and managed the region's first hospital-based home care program at Trinity Memorial Hospital in Cudahy until her retirement. Marian was also the matriarch of her immediate and extended family, a role that she treasured as fiercely as her role as nurse and caregiver. She was an active and involved member of St. Matthias Parish for more than fifty years, and a long-time volunteer at West Allis Memorial Hospital. Marian loved to travel, and completes her greatest journey reunited with her dear Bill. She will be greatly missed by all who loved her. In lieu of flowers, donations to Ministry Home Care-Hospice Services in Stevens Point would be welcomed.
