Catherine (Kay) E. Condon, 96, of Fort Dodge, passed away Friday, March 20, 2015 at her daughter Dorothy's home. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 24, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. in the Chapel of the Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home and 10:30 a.m. at Corpus Christi Church with Msgr. Kevin McCoy officiating the Mass of Christian Burial. Burial will be at St. James Cemetery in Clare. Visitation will be held Monday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with the C.D.A. Rosary at 4:00 p.m. and Vigil at 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Catherine is survived by her daughters, Evonne (Jorge) Rodriguez-Sierra of Omaha, NE; Dorothy (Dick) Griffin of Fort Dodge; 9 grandchildren, Jorge (Shelby) Rodriguez-Sierra and Carlos Rodriguez-Sierra; Michael Griffin; Katie (Scott) Jann; Kelly Griffin; Patrick (Amy) Griffin; Tom (Julia) Griffin; Lizzie Griffin; Carrie Condon; and 8 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl in 1992; parents, Edwin and Evonne (Lynch) Dwyer; son, Gerry Condon; infant sons, Lawrence and Joseph; infant daughter, Mary Elizabeth; sister, Patty Albright. d and educated in Fort Dodge, graduating from Corpus Christi High School in 1936. In 1940, Catherine graduated from Clark College. Kay worked at the Fort Dodge Welfare Office for a few years before she entered the USO and served in Alabama. After the war, she returned to Fort Dodge and continued to work for the Welfare Office. On August 4, 1947, Catherine was united in marriage to Carl Condon at Corpus Christi Church. The couple established their home on a farm in Clare. While raising her family, she also worked for the Women's Reformatory and at various nursing homes as a social worker until retiring in 1978. In 1990, Kay and Carl moved off the family farm "Irish Acres" and into Fort Dodge. She was a member of card club for many, many years, Holy Trinity Parish and a lifetime member of Catholic Daughters of America. Memorials may be left to the St. Edmond Catholic School System.
