James Robert France, 75, of Boulder Junction, WI, and Tipton, IA, died March 28, 2015, at home after a long battle with cancer.
Jim was born February 2, 1940, in Davenport, IA, to James Delaplane France and Jean Elizabeth (Hahn) France. He married Linda Lou Johnson on September 10, 1960, in Hinsdale, IL.
Jim was a retired resort owner in Boulder Junction and former Director of Parks and Recreation for the city of Beloit, WI. He was President of the Boulder Junction Chamber of Commerce for 6 years and a sponsor of Pheasants Forever for 25 years. Jim was a graduate of Tipton High School and The University of Iowa.
Survivors include his wife Linda; daughter Barbara Smasal (Joseph Bradac), children Jason and Erin Fillner, of Wisconsin; sons, Todd and children Brianne and Rachel of Illinois; Timothy (Jonelle) and children Maxwell, Cameron, and Olivia of Michigan; and Terry (Jennifer) and children Noah and Madelyn of Wisconsin. He is proceeded in death my his father James, mother Jean, and sister Mary Jean Emrich.
