Rhonda Lynn Mathews, 59, of Mt. Pleasant and formerly of Danville, died at her home Friday, March 27, 2015.
Ms. Mathews was born June 13, 1955 in Burlington, the daughter of Raymond Walter and Patricia Ellen Wood Hillgartner. She was a 1973 graduate of Danville High School and of the Methodist faith. She enjoyed helping people, flowers and gardening, antiques, crocheting and needlepoint, her dog "Bailey", and her grandson Riley. She was also a great upholsterer and was a collector of everything.
She is survived by two children, Nikki Duggan Merschman of New London, and Raymond (Lorrie) Mathews of Centerville; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild; four sisters, Roberta (Tim) Benge of Kansas City, MO, Cheryl (Mike) Rich of Mt. Pleasant, Margaret (Jeff) Coleman of Danville, and Sheila (Martin) Blomme of Stockport; two brothers, Morris (Kelly) Hillgartner of Lockridge and Rick (Susan) Hillgartner of Harlan; many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, and two cousins.
