James is survived by his daughter, Kathleen "Kitty" Marquardt, Milwaukee; grandchildren, Kelly (Andy) Kiefert, Nicholas and Matt Keegan; great-grandchildren, Jackson, Emerson "Emmy" and Madilyn "Madi" Kiefert; sisters, Ruth Tilkens and Rita Van Iten; brother-in-law, Henry King; son-in-law, John Keegan; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Mary Francis Keegan; his sisters, Eva King, Jeanne Rocque and June Marquardt; and his brothers, Rev. Donald, Richard and Norbert Marquardt. Visitation will be held on Monday, April 20, 2015 from 10:00 am until the funeral mass at 12:00 noon at Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Church 2270 S. Oneida Street with the Rev. John H. Harper officiating. Interment will be at Allouez Catholic Cemetery. A memorial fund has been established in James' name. Thank you to the staffs at Marla Vista Gardens, St. Vincent Hospital and Unity Hospice where he spent his final days. A very special thank you to Kathy, Stephanie and Stacey Brock, who cared for him during his later years, Dr. David Spika for his compassionate care for many years and his special friends and neighbors, David and Mary DeMelle, whose watchful eyes and day-to-day help made it possible for him to stay in his home.
