Harriet Newman, 100, of Fort Dodge, passed away Monday, April 20, 2015 at her granddaughter's home. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, April 23, 2015 in the Chapel of Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home with Joyce Garton Natte E.L.P. officiating. Private burial will be held at a later date. A visitation will be 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Harriet is survived by her granddaughters, Lori (Leonard) Kelso of Fort Dodge; Rhonda (Curt) Ruby of Ankeny; Vicky (Brian) Bell of Goldfield; Christine (Timothy) Pederson of Humboldt; Larae (Jeff) Parks of Las Vegas, NV; great-grandchildren, Stephanie Wilson and her husband Nick; Lissa Holst and her husband Josh; Amber Pringle and her fiancé Kolby Mcleod, and Corey Kelso and Dustin Kelso, all of Fort Dodge; Derek Bell of Goldfield; Jonathan and Justin Pedersen of Humboldt; Courtney Gunn of MN; Nathan Parks of Las Vegas, NV; great-great grandchild, Kaylee Wilson; and step-great-great grandchildren; Corbin Kelso and Jordan Holst. born May 24, 1914 in Hudson, SD and attended rural schools. She was married to Andrew Green on December 12, 1933, and to this marriage was born their daughter, Patricia Green. Andrew passed away on November 19, 1953. Harriet was later united in marriage to Clayton Newman on December 23, 1957. Clayton passed away in the year of 1972. She was employed with Eastern Star Masonic Home for 12 years as a cook until retiring in 1995. She loved dancing, traveling, and Harriet enjoyed doing crossword puzzles. A Big Hug to the wonderful staff at Hospice of Fort Dodge, for their kindness and support in Harriet's final journey of her life on earth. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
