Peter F. Cox, 62, of Ponca, NE passed away on Saturday, April 25, 2015 at the Elms Health Care Center in Ponca, NE. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday, April 29, 2015 at Native American Church in Winnebago, NE. Burial will be in Umo nhon Tribal Cemetery in Macy, NE. Visitation will begin at the church at 11:30 A.M. on Monday, April 27th and continue until time of the service on Wednesday. Arrangements are under the direction of Mohr Funeral Home in South Sioux City, NE. Pete was born in Omaha, NE on May 2, 1952, the son of Geneva JoAnn Cox Greyhair. He attended the St. Augustine Indian Mission in Winnebago, NE. He entered the Job Corp. in Denver, CO and worked for the Forestry Service. When he became ill, he moved to the Elms Health Care Center in Ponca, NE. Survivors include his siblings, Linda Sue Greyhair, Starrie Alan Greyhair and Eraine Greyhair Saldana; one uncle, Alvin Cox; and many nieces and nephews. Pete was preceded in death by his mother, Geneva JoAnn Cox Greyhair; and siblings, Alene Cox, Bryan Greyhair and Joan Cox. [more]
