Marjorie Elinora Manchester, the daughter of Marion and Elizabeth Jane (Farrington) Sickler, was born on April 3, 1921 in Glenwood, Iowa. She passed away on Monday, July 6, 2015 at Elm Heights Care Center in Shenandoah, Iowa. Marjorie lived a short time near Wray, Colorado and Sandersen, Florida where she started school. After coming back to Iowa the family lived a short time in Griswold, Iowa, before settling in Shenandoah where she lived the remainder of her life. Marjorie was baptized in the First Christian Church in September 1931. On April 16, 1938, Marjorie was united in marriage with Roy Dillon Manchester in Rock Port, Missouri. To this union five sons and one daughter were born. Marjorie had been a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and BPW. For a number of years she was active in the Jaycee-ettes. Marjorie had been employed at the Spurgeons store and Montgomery Wards for some time previous to starting at the Ladies Apparel Shop where she continued for almost 20 years before her retirement in December 1989. Marjorie is survived by her children; Marion Manchester and wife Sakiyo of Wichita, Kansas, Eldon Manchester and wife Loraine of Shenandoah, Iowa, Gordon Manchester and wife Kathy of Shenandoah, Iowa, Richard Manchester and wife Connie of Mason City, Iowa, Connie Enserro and husband Ron, Sr. of West Des Moines, Iowa and Danny Manchester and wife Carol of Starks, Louisiana, sisters Mary Harms of Shenandoah, Iowa and Dorothy Christofferson of Yuma, Arizona, grandchildren; Bill Manchester and wife Tracy of Wichita, Kansas, David Manchester of Camdenton, Missouri, Juli Redmond and husband Dan of Earlham, Iowa, Becky Manchester of Kansas City, Missouri, Andy Manchester and wife Sharon of Shenandoah, Iowa, Mark Manchester and wife Shawn of Westboro, Missouri, Denise Manchester of Shenandoah, Iowa, Tim Manchester and wife Sherri of Mason City, Iowa, Brian Manchester of Mason City, Iowa, Nick Manchester and wife Samantha of Rangely, Colorado, Ron Enserro, Jr. and wife Elizabeth of Lonetree, Colorado, Rhonda Enserro and husband Bart Kopf of West Des Moines, Iowa, Jennifer Branton and husband Dustin of Slidell, Louisiana and Pete Manchester of Starks, Louisiana, 34 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, other family and friends. Memorials may be directed to the First Christian Church in Shenandoah. Burial will be held at the Rose Hill Cemetery in Shenandoah.
