Marilyn Lenz

Marilyn E. Lenz, age 78, of Spirit Lake, passed away Thursday, July 9, 2015, at her home in Spirit Lake. She was born on June 9, 1937, in Spirit Lake, Iowa, to Howard and Mary Ellen (Spencer) Leek. Marilyn was united in marriage to Leroy Lenz on February 8, 1953, in Lake Park, Iowa. She always took great pride in raising the children and working with Leroy, as they owned D and L Construction. Marilyn enjoyed spending her spare time fishing, camping, gardening, canning, sewing and horseback riding. Her true passion in life was her family! Marilyn is survived by her daughter, Charlene Linn, and her husband, Ron of Colfax; three sons, Duane Lenz, and his wife, Marjie of Marshalltown, Mike Lenz, and his wife, Becky of Mallard, and Jerry Lenz of Schaller; sister, Faye Stiner of Topeka, Kansas; brother, Luverne Leek, and his wife, Donna of Estherville; 7 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Leroy; infant daughter, Marlene Kae; four infant grandchildren; three sisters; and a brother. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M.
