Shelly S. Twiford

Shelly S. Twiford, 55, of Dakota City, NE entered heaven on Wednesday, July 22, 2015 at a Sioux City hospital after a courageous battle with melanoma cancer. Her final days were spent surrounded by her loving family and friends that Shelly had touched throughout her short yet memorable life. Memorial services will be held at 10:00 am on Monday, July 27, 2015 at Sunnybrook Community Church in Sioux City, IA. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation with the family present will begin at 5pm with a prayer service at 6pm on Sunday, July 26, 2015 at Mohr funeral home in South Sioux City, NE. Shelly was born on January 13, 1960 in Sioux City, IA, the daughter of Albert and Mary Jane (Holbrook) Saltsgiver. She grew up in Dakota City, NE and graduated from South Sioux City High School. Shelly married Rick Twiford on October 23, 1976 in Dakota City, NE. In this union three children were born: Christopher, Nicole, and Tiffany. Together they shared 39 wonderful years. also loved to have her whole family together with her as her sisters and brother were a very important part of her life and she was their greatest communicator. She enjoyed working in her yard, tending to flowers and was a Husker football fan. Survivors include her loving husband, Rick Twiford of Dakota City, NE; her beloved children, Christopher Twiford of Dakota City, NE, Nicole and her husband Casey McKewon of Sioux City, IA, Tiffany and her husband Rodney Bligh of South Sioux City, NE; her cherished grandchildren: Bianca and Noah Bligh; Connor, Christian and Quinn McKewon; Her dearest siblings and their families: Sherry Reifenrath of South Sioux City and her children Ray, Rick and Rikki Jane; Sonia and Marlon Snyder of Wall Lake, IA and their children Kimberly, Wade and Lynn; Sheila and Denny Smith of Dakota City, NE and their children Marty, Troy and Dawn; Mark and Betty Saltsgiver of LeMars, IA and their children Stacy, Misty and Matthew; Sindy and Steve Snyder of Lake View, IA and their children Crystal, Cara and Corey; and many other great nieces and nephews that were also very important to her. Shelly was proceeded in death by her parents, Albert and Jane Saltsgiver; brother-in-law, Raymond Reifenrath, Jr.; and a nephew, John David Kuehl; father-in-laws Jack Twiford and Mike Martin.
