Ms. Karen D. (West) Hinton, 60, met Jesus on Sunday August 2, 2015 surrounded by family following a long battle with cancer. She was born on January 18, 1955 in Batesville, IN, the daughter of Lawrence West and Beverly (Hunt) Krumme-Jennings. Karen was a member of Carmel Lutheran Church, Carmel, IN and was confirmed in the Lutheran faith at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Seymour, IN on March 30, 1969. She was a graduate of Seymour High School in 1973 and received her Bachelors Degree in Nursing from Ball State University in 1977. Karen worked at Methodist Hospital, Beltway Surgery Center North, and finished her 37-year career at IU North Hospital as an R.N. Karen's life purpose was to care for others. Whether through her long career as a nurse, her loyalty to friends, or her unconditional love for her family, Karen was the true embodiment of Jesus' teaching of a servant's heart. She was a phenomenal yet messy cook; a caregiver to many; a strong advocate for those who needed a voice; a connoisseur of food; a gentle yet honest advisor. She was greeted in Heaven by her father, Lawrence West and stepfather, Henry "Hank" Krumme. John 8:31-32 NIV. A Celebration of Life service will be held at Carmel Lutheran Church on Saturday the 8th of August at 11 AM with Pastor Max Murphy officiating. Visitation will be at Carmel Lutheran Church on Saturday from 9 AM until time of service.
