Hartleb age 86, of Hamilton, passed away Saturday, April 5, 2014 at 2:05 p.m. surrounded by his family at Berkeley Square Healthcare. He was born in Hamilton, the son of John E. and Lucille (Zecher) Hartleb on June 8, 1927. He was a graduate of Hamilton High School, Class of 1947. He married his wife, NaDeen Kennedy, on September 27, 1958 in Hamilton. They enjoyed 55 years of marriage. Dan was employed as a cabinet maker for Butler County Lumber Co. for 23 years and was supervisor in maintenance for Miami University, Oxford for 27 years, retiring in 1993. He was a lifelong member of The First St. John United Church of Christ and was past Sunday School Superintendent. He was also a member of Hugh L. Bates Lodge #686 F&AM and the Public Employees Retirees. One of the highlights of his high school years was playing football for the "Big Blue". Hartleb, Hamilton and Dan S. (Gina) Hartleb, Champaign, IL; his brother, Jay (LeDale) Hartleb, Hamilton; his sister, Jo Ann Schoeler, Venetia, PA; two grandchildren, Zakary D. and Haley N. Hartleb, his sister-in-law, Dorothy Hartleb, Hamilton and brother-in-law, Robert J. Kennedy, Vero Beach, FL and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, John L. and N. Thomas Hartleb, sister-in-law, Shirley Hartleb and brothers-in-law, Irvin M. Kennedy and Joseph A. Schoeler.
