Earl F. Isaacs

Mr. Earl F. Isaacs, 96 of Seymour, formerly of Columbus, passed away Wednesday, August 12, 2015, at the Covered Bridge Health Care Campus. Mr. Isaacs was born in Cortland, Indiana, on February 5, 1919, the son of the late Clarence and Oma Mae (Coffman) Isaacs. On December 10, 1942, he married Margaret Weekly, who passed away August 11, 1998. He then married Ruby Timbrook on February 14, 1999, who passed away January 24, 2014. After graduating from Cortland High School, he joined the US Army AirCorps during World War II. He served in the 385th Signal Service Company Aviation. He served under the command of Dwight D. Eisenhower, and participated in campaigns in Normandy, Northern France, Central Europe, and Rhineland. For his service, he received the EAME Theater Ribbon, with four Bronze Stars and the Good Conduct Medal. Earl was a member of the East Columbus Christian Church, Washington Masonic Lodge # 13 and Order of the Eastern Star in Brownstown and later transferred to Seymour Chapter 134, and a lifetime member of the V.F.W. Earl is survived by his daughter Judy (Russell) Gregory, grandchildren Lisa (Jon) Findley, Sara (Joel) Keinath, David (Lisa) Gregory, and James (Melissa) Gregory, great grandchildren Corbin Gregory, Charles Gregory, Jordan Findley, Joshua Findley, Jalyn Findley Noah Keinath, and Madelynn Keinath, step children, Nancy Wilkerson and Tony Timbrook, four step grandchildren, step great grandchildren Austin McCoy and Trista McCoy, and step great great grandchild Nora Jo Tolbert. He is preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Margaret, second wife Ruby, sisters Lorene Wininger, Esther Hamilton, and Lucille Isaacs, and an infant granddaughter Susan Gregory. Funeral service will be at Voss Chapel on Saturday, August 15, 2015, at 2:00 p.m., with Rev. Patrick Glasser officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery, with full military graveside rites conducted by VFW Post 1925, American Legion Post 89, Disabled Veterans 47, Korean and Vietnam Veterans, all of Seymour. Friends and family may call at Voss Chapel on Saturday after 12 noon until time of service. A Masonic service will be held at Voss Chapel on Saturday at 11:30 a.m. Memorial checks may be written to Riley Children's Hospital, Children's Hospital of Cincinnati or Kosair Children's Hospital, all through the Voss and Sons Funeral Service.
