John Joseph McKenzie

JOHN JOSEPH MCKENZIE, 85, of the Pleasant Plains section of Toms River passed away on Monday, August 17, 2015 at Community Medical Center, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Newark, he resided most of his life in Kearny, before moving to Toms River in 2000. He was a truck driver for St. Johnsbury, North Bergen all his life, retiring in 1990. He was predeceased by his parents, Henry and Anna Lynch McKenzie, his brothers, Harry and Billy, his sisters, Anna, Jane and Rita. Surviving are his beloved wife, Marilyn Johnson, their children, John McKenzie and his wife Denise of Toms River, David McKenzie of Rogersville, TN, and Gail Kenny and her husband Richard of Glen Allen, VA; four grandchildren: John McKenzie and his fiancé Katie Oleksy, Ryan Elizabeth Kenny, Samantha Kenny and Kimberly McKenzie, and a brother Robert McKenzie of Tuckerton. Viewing will be on Wednesday, 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM at HORIZON FUNERAL AND CREMATION SERVICES, 1329 Route 37 West, Toms River, NJ 08755.
