Joyce Heller

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, August 29th at 11:30 a.m. at the funeral home. The family will greet friends from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service. Inurnment will be at Evergreen cemetery in Emmetsburg. Joyce, the daughter of LeRoy and Lottie (Church) Steven, was born February 19, 1927 in Corwith, Iowa. She spent her childhood years in Kossuth, Hancock and Winnebago counties in Iowa, where she received her education. On August 30, 1949, she was united in marriage to Bernard Heller in Emmetsburg. The couple farmed north of Emmetsburg and a few years later, they moved to Emmetsburg to raise their family. She had a large garden, and she liked to fish, play games and read her bible. Joyce passed away June 25, 2015 at Interfaith Care Center in Carlton, MN. Left to cherish her memory are her children: Delores Hanson of Cloquet, MN and Roy Heller (Mary) of Barnum, MN; five grandchildren: Heidi Mcelfresh (Jason) of Irvine, CA, Ben Hanson (Sarah) of Duluth, MN, Emily Tobias (Jonathan) of Inver Grove Heights, MN, Katy Goodman (Wyatt) of Cloquet, MN and Brad Heller of Mount Pleasant, TX; five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren in Califo...[more]

Joyce was preceded in death by her parents; husband Bernard in 2008; grandson, Justin Heller; and siblings: Mettie, Lois, Claribel, Elmer, Verle, Walter and Elvie in infancy.
