rf. He also had been involved in law enforcement working as a Maquoketa Policeman and later as a Deputy Sheriff for the Jackson County Sheriff's Department. Since 1957 Jack had been an active member of the First Baptist Church in Maquoketa where he had served on many boards and committees. He also was a member of the Bellevue American Legion Post #273. "Jack" enjoyed hunting, fishing, trapping, shooting, and working on or repairing things. He loved talking about the places where he had worked as a youth, places where he had served in service, family from the past and just their everyday lives. Those left to honor Jack's memory include his children Karen (Ron) Ringler of Aurora, MO, Debra Caraway of Bellevue, IA and Warren (Susan) Crouch of Bellevue, IA; 5 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; brothers Tom Crouch of Maquoketa, IA, Ennis (Mary Jo) Crouch of Maquoketa, IA and W.D. "Butch" Crouch of Maquoketa, IA; and sisters Charlene Regenwether of Centerville, IA, and Arlene Witzak of Nanticoke, PA. He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter Nancy Reka Crouch in 1987, a grandson Christopher Michael Shady in 2012, and his wife Kathryn on August 13, 2015.
