Marilyn R. Meyer

Marilyn R. Meyer died Monday, August 31, 2015, at her home following a brief illness. She was 63. Private family visitation and graveside services will be held. Marilyn Rose Meyer was born on November 25, 1951, in Algona, daughter of Arthur and Mary (Scholtes) Droessler. She grew up in Bancroft graduating from St. John's Catholic High School in 1970. Marilyn then worked in the office at Algona Implement. Marilyn was married to Eldon Meyer on August 1, 1975 at St. John's Catholic Church in Bancroft. They raised their two children north of Algona and together operated Meyer's AMF Bicycle Shop. Marilyn had a special love for animals and was especially fond of her cats. She enjoyed watching movies, listening to music, beating her friends and family at cribbage and 500 and loved dancing. She and Eldon traveled all over the Midwest to attend dances. She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Eldon; two children, Melissa Reynoldson and her husband Jacob of Aurora, CO and Eric Meyer of Des Moines; two sisters; five brothers; 3 sister-in-laws; 2 brother-in-laws; and many nieces and nephews.
