Diane Madalene Wenzel

In Loving Memory Diane Madalene Wenzel, age 82, passed away Thursday, September 3, 2015 at the Willows Nursing Home after a courageous battle with Alzheimer's Disease. Diane was born June 20, 1933 in De Pere, WI, daughter to Urban and Marie ( Keyser) Zimmer. They had four children Rosemarie, Charmaine, Diane and Jerome. Diane's family moved to Milwaukee where she attended Messmer H.S. In 1957 she married George Wenzel in Milwaukee. George and Diane moved to several places in Wisconsin due to George's employment with the Wisconsin State Patrol. Diane was extremely talented in quilting, sewing and other handy crafts. She also found time to be a Cub Scout pack leader and Girl Scout leader. Diane enjoyed cooking, baking ,gardening and spoiling her grandchildren. Diane was a very caring and loving soul, which can be shown by her volunteer work in the St. Gerard Circle at St. Albert Catholic Church. Albert The Great Catholic Church, 2420 St. Albert Drive, Sun Prairie, on Wednesday, September 9, 2015 at 11:00am with Monsignor Terrence Connors presiding. Burial will follow at Sacred Hearts Cemetery in Sun Prairie. A visitation will be held at church on Wednesday from 10:00am until the time of mass. The family wishes to express their appreciation for the numerous staff members at the Willows Nursing Home for their kind and compassionate care of Diane over the past five years.
