Ronald "Roy" Rork, 84, of Otho passed away on September 7, 2015 at Paula J. Baber Hospice Home. Funeral services will be on Saturday, September, 12, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. in the Chapel of Lauferweiler-Sievers Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Holaday Creek Cemetery, near Coalville. A visitation will be held on Friday, September 11, 2015 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Those thankful for having shared in Roy's life include his wife, Joyce; children, Rhonda (Randy) Hoover of Otho; Michael (Nancy) Rork of Otho; Joyce Halbach of Eagle Grove; Patrick Rork of Eagle Grove; Ronald Rork of Fort Dodge; Dawn (Ken) McMahon of Otho; 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; sisters, Joyce Heddinger of Fort Dodge; and Judy Brassfield of Newton. He was preceded in death by his parents, Everett and Ruby (Jeffers) Rork; grandson, Michael Rork; and great-grandson, Nathan Halbach. Roy Rork was born November 19, 1930 in Osceola. ing and Fort Dodge and Des Moines Southern Railroad. Roy was employed with Gus Glaser for 20 years and worked at Levien Chevrolet. He was the Director of Transportation of Fort Dodge Schools as well as Americold for 13 years upon retirement in 1992. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, Fort Dodge. Roy was also a part of Iowa State Engineers Club and was a charter member of Des Moines River Valley Antique Tractors and Gas Engine Club Roy loved the outdoors, whether he was working in the garden or taking care of the yard. He loved to restore antiques, custom made two straw balers, which he then sold at craft sales. He also enjoyed fishing, hunting and traveling with Joyce. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
