Jesse Juarez, age 60, of Spirit Lake, passed away Thursday, September 10, 2015, at his home in Spirit Lake. He was born on January 22, 1955, in Ysleta, Texas, to Hipilito and Manuela (Rodriguez) Juarez. Jesse was united in marriage to Tamera Basler on November 18, 1978, in Tracy, California.
Jesse worked removing snow, mowing lawns and trimming trees all over the lakes area. He was always known to be a hard worker and very fair.
Jesse was a member of the Okoboji Fire and Rescue and the Spirit Lake Fire Department, where he also served as an EMT. He enjoyed spending his spare time hunting, fishing and talking with friends, as he never met a stranger.
Jesse is survived by his wife, Tamera Juarez of Spirit Lake; two daughters, Desiree Pollard, and her husband, James of Manteca, California, and Samantha Gifford, and her husband, Derek of North Platte, Nebraska; mother, Manuela Juarez of Tracy, California; eight grandchildren, Kadda, Matthew, Derik, Kamdon, Kaeli, Sage, Kyra and Ryan; sister, Mary; and two brothers, Hipilito and Freddie. He was preceded in death by his father; son, Christopher; and three brothers, John, Carlos and Tony.

on Tuesday, September 15, 2015, at 1:00 p.m. at the Schuchert-Lentz Funeral Home in Spirit Lake. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given in Jesse's name.
