ost 25 years by his side, his children Danyell (Ryan) Slaven-Landreth, Danny J. (Janette) Slaven, Dawnielle (Mike) Koebcke, Misty Brooks, and his treasured grandchildren Joshua Slaven, Gracey Lin Slaven, Hailey Renee Slaven, Miley Jo Slaven, Emaly Koebcke, Sophie Koebcke, Devin Tyler Brooks, and Austin Henley Brooks. Dan also leaves behind a brother Eddie Slaven and sister Sheila (Steve) Thompson. He was proceeded in death by a son Christopher James Slaven, his parents, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Anyone who ever had the honor of knowing Dan, surely will never forget the big grin he always had on his face. No doubt, that smile brightened countless days for those who encountered him in this life and will be dearly missed by all. Dan served the community as a plumber for the last three decades, Dan Slaven Sewer and Drain was started on his 25th birthday with determination and hard work he made a success out of something that began with nothing. He leaves behind a legacy of strength and hard work, the calluses on his hardworking hands always told the story. Dan was also a talented musician, he mastered many instruments throughout his life and was always willing to teach others to play. He dearly loved the time he spent playing music and all of the friends he made along the way. Dan was a man of faith and a member at Westside United Baptist Church. Visitation will be Friday, October 2, 2015 at Westside United Baptist Church, 3021 W. Cornbread Rd., Muncie from 10:00 am until the service at 1:00 pm. His presence will forever be missed but in our hearts his love and legacy will always live on. Rest in heaven Dan Slaven; you were an outstanding man and completed your life admirably.
