Raymond Eugene Swindell

Raymond Eugene "Gene" Swindell, 91, passed away Tuesday, October 13, 2015 at I. U. Health Ball Memorial Hospital. Gene was born December 10, 1923on the family farm in Yorktown to John Raymond and Halcie May (Gale) Swindell. He was a 1941 graduate of Yorktown High School. Gene had a passion for farming and was a farmer for many years. He also worked at Fuson Implement for 35 years in addition to driving a school bus for 40 years for Yorktown schools. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Gene is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Betty L. ( Kelly) Swindell, whom he married December 31, 1947; daughters, Suzanne (Mike) Terrell, Deborah (Dan) Heath, Jennifer (Jerry) Harris, and Kimberly (Mark) Thaxton; grandchildren, Jessica Wamsley, Dr. Andrew Terrell, Joshua Heath, Lindsay Jorgensen, Jared Heath, Adam Heath, and Abigail Harris, and 21 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and a great-granddaughter, Eliza Louise Wamsley.
