Phil Killinger, 77, of Carson, passed away on October 25, 2015 at the Bellevue Medical Center in Bellevue, Nebraska. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, October 29, 2015 at the Carson United Methodist Church in Carson with Reverend Brody Tubaugh officiating. Burial will be in the Carson Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 28, 2015 at Loess Hills Funeral Home in Carson. Memorials are directed to the family. Philip Lynn Killinger was born on March 18, 1938 in Carson, Iowa, the son of George Putnam Killinger and Valma Muriel (Fenn) Killinger. He grew up in Carson and graduated from the Carson High School in 1955. Phil graduated from Iowa Wesleyan College in Mount Pleasant, Iowa. Phil was the Youth Secretary at the YMCA in Burlington, Iowa, and then moved to Woodbine, Iowa where he taught Junior High Science and coached girls' sports for six years. Phil returned to Carson area where he farmed with his father and farmed for 47 years until he became ill. Phil was united in marriage to Charlotte Ann Boyd on December 21, 1958 in Winterset, Iowa. il passed away on October 25, 2015 at the age of 77 years and was preceded in death by his parents; brother George Killinger; and sister Virginia Lewis. Phil is survived by his wife Ann Killinger of Carson; son Michael Killinger of Carson; three grandchildren, Kaitlin, Lexi and Chase Killinger; sister Barbara Jeneary of Winterset, IA; and nieces and nephews.
